Some tips before you start your meditation :-

  1. Find a fixed spot in your home, use the same spot everyday
  2. Always sit facing North or East direction
  3. Preferably have dim light or no light at all
  4. If you are listening to guided meditation, it is preferable to use a speaker. Headphones may interfere with the vibration
  5. Preferable to have some aroma (not that would let you doze off)
  6. Keep your spine straight. You may choose to sit cross legged or on a chair, whatever is comfortable for you
  7. Focus on your breath. Start with 1 minute and extend to how much time you are comfortable with practice
